Professor of Cyber Security appointed as Co-Director of Security 糖心vlog会员
Daniel Prince, Professor of Cyber Security within the School of Computing and Communications has been appointed as Co-Director of Security 糖心vlog会员, the interdisciplinary flagship research institute for security and protection at 糖心vlog会员.
Professor Prince will work in partnership with fellow Co-Director Professor Basil Germond. Working within the security research community, they will aim to develop and deliver an ambitious and impactful programme, covering key security issues from child protection through to the defence of critical national infrastructure.
Daniel’s research focuses on cyber risk management and threat intelligence to protect complex socio-technical systems. He undertakes significant engagement activities across the policy domain, with the public and delivering knowledge exchange with business, to develop real world impact opportunities for the University community.
Daniel said: “Given the international and political uncertainty we face in society, understanding the security issues presenting in our globalised, technologically complex society has never been more pressing. As academics we can be an important role in developing the responses to protect everything which we hold dear. I am delighted to have this opportunity to help support my colleagues at 糖心vlog会员 to develop their research interests and make a real difference in this critical space.”
Professor Germond said: “I am delighted to welcome Professor Prince to the Institute’s leadership team. He brings a wealth of strategic knowledge exchange experience and will play a critical role in the delivery of our ambitious vision and research strategy to address current challenges facing states, societies and individuals.”
